That the Swedish ladies would meet Slovakia in Blekinge had been decided before - now the date is nailed. On June 1st at 5 P.M. the match will be played in Karlskrona's new arena.
In connection with the finish of the Women's European Championship in handball in France in December where Sweden ended six, the European qualification for the World Cup in Japan was drawn in December. Then it was clear that Slovakia is waiting in a double meeting for a World Cup ticket.
Sweden starts home on Saturday, June 1st and is thus joining in and opening the new arena in Karlskrona. The return is played in Slovakia from 4 to 6 June.
- It is an opponent that we do not know much about right now, except that they made a pre-qualification where they, among other things, knocked out Ukraine. It will be fun to take them on and it will be awesome to join in and inaugurate the new arena in Karlskrona and write history there, said the national team's middle sex Anna Lagerquist in connection with the draw and confirmation of Karlskrona as match site.
Tickets for the match in Karlskrona will be released on March 25 at handboll.ebiljett.nu.
The only gathering before the World Cup qualification takes place in two weeks when Sweden meets Russia in Eskilstuna (March 22nd) and Norrköping (March 23rd). There, Sweden, among other things, recruits five new players compared to the squad from the European Championships this winter.
